I’ve had Peruvian food before but not like this. Located just outside of Miami in a high end shopping center where the Porsche and Maybach were battling for attention while waiting outside to pick up take out.
What’s an evening of Peruvian food— or any other night for that matter—without Rojas Sangria, a blend of red wine, Brandy, triple sec, “starry” chopped orange with a side what I want to believe were corn nuts made in house lightly salted.
Plancha Anticuchera On the menu were two versions Mariscos and Mixta. Both were similar but mariscos lacked the beef tenderloin and was less expensive by $4. The plate serving fed about 3 or 4 people so we chose the Mixta. The grilled beef tenderloin and the grilled chicken were both very tender. That giant squid piece was the largest I’ve ever had and no it didn’t think too much about it; shrimp, and choncla, a soft potato cakes which was not unlike mashed potatoes but closer to a puree version and Anticuchera sauce.
Not pictured: A Peruvian type of fried rice called arroz chaufas, a wok seared beef tenderloin with chifa fried rice. Paired really well with the Anticuchera sauce.

Strawberry Tres Leches French toast made from challah bread, topped with condensed milk dulce de Leche, strawberries and spiced gingerbread cookies. This may look like a big sugary mess… and it was but it was also delicious. Fortunately I had people to split this with because there is no way that I can have this much sugar and it not turn into a gigantic crash.
The ham eggs Benedict was not my meal but it was a classic. The poached egg was definitely on the firmer side but still looked enjoyable.
Nothing like a sunrise juice. This one was called Morning Meditation— orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave, Nectar and beet juice. It was the most replenishing compliment to a meal and I was grateful for it. Because we were having all this on a travel day, I took the option to add a “wellness shot”. Glad, I did because there was no way that I could have stayed healthy after this trip with all the germs floating around.
Shishito brisket hash. That’s not bacon! That is brisket covered potato hash topped with two fried eggs, house roasted summer sweet corn, cheddar and Monterey jack. All blended with house pickled red onions, scallions, and roasted garlic aioli
This was a last minute add on and a welcome surprise. I’m so used to savory cornbread that I didn’t event think of blueberry lemon cornbread sweet covered with powder sugar.

I took the shuttle from the AirBnB into Doral’s “city” district, a small curated square complete with Instagramable flower/swing settings. The mixed use buildings were both housing above and boutiques below— all of which were near empty.
Although my mission was coffee that morning, I realized that if I was going to be in an IG setting, might as well “do it for the ‘Gram”— breakfast, that is.
Salmon breakfast sandwich with a side of arugula salad. What was disturbing was the lack of seasoning and the fact that this restaurant had no hot sauce in sight.
