The Muhammad Ali Center
144 N 6th St, Louisville, KY 40202, United States
The museum and event center was a moment of realization that there is something that we are bigger than. The Louisville Kentucky boxer was a great man with an even greater purpose as a changemaker.
Upon entry, visitors are led to the top floor to begin the journey into Ali’s history. The movie explained a lot of what would be shown through display in the museum.
His philosophy on just being a decent human is the thing that feels like it’s missing the most from the world right now.
He wasn't just a boxer but he was someone who understood that he needed to use his platform for the benefit of others.
While watching the introduction video, I learned that he spent 4 years fighting and appealing the US when he was selected to fight in the Vietnam War during the 60s.
Boxing wasn't the only fight that he would succeed and beat. All the exhibits were educational. The quotes from Ali on the walls from books or articles are gems that can be used to keep us whole.
Fun. I hope to go some day.
